St. Andrew beat St. Peter by 19 runs to reach semis of UWI Inter-Parish T20 competition

Bridgetown, Barbados - St. Andrew Rhythm, boasting the likes of Barbados and West Indies 'A' team batting all-rounder Jonathan Carter and national and West Indies Women's exciting all-rounder Deandre Dottin, defeated neighbours St. Peter Voyagers by 19 runs to book the second semi-final place in the 2013 UWI CO Williams Inter-Parish Twenty20 competition.

In what was Match 10 at the 3Ws Oval on Thursday night, St. Andrew scored 126 for six off 20 overs after they were sent in.

Left-hander Carter, Aubrey Towler and Kofie Hurdle, all scored 22. Opener Towler faced 38 balls, Carter received 25 balls and hit one six, while Hurdle was the most enterprising, striking one four and one six in a 15-ball knock.

Larando Best beefed up the innings with an unbeaten 18 off only seven balls, hitting two fours and one six.

Dottin, who starred for West Indies in the recent Tri-nation Women's T20 series featuring England and New Zealand in Barbados, was bowled for two by former Barbados captain and West Indies fast bowler Corey Collymore.

Off-spinner Ramon Greaves took two for 22.

St. Peter were bowled out for 107 in 18.2 overs.

Veteran Don O'neal topscored with 20 off nine balls including two sixes and one four at No. 9.

Best completed a good all-round match, grabbing three for 20, while pacer Ackeem Jordan picked up three for 22 and off-spinner Alex Bridgeman, two for 13.

St. Andrew Rhythm will oppose St. Michael Merchants in the first semi-final on Tuesday, December 3 at 7 p.m.
