Combermere thrashes Frederick Smith in U-13 cricket competition

Bridgetown, Barbados - Nicholls Baking Combermere bounced back from its first round loss to inflict an 108-run defeat on Frederick Smith Secondary in the second round of matches in the Barbados Cricket Association Republic Bank Under-13 Limited Overs Championship.

Seth Agard made 66 and Kastun Stoute 38 as Combermere amassed 174-6 in 27 overs over at Waterford ‘A’. Frederick Smith was then bowled out for 66 in 22 overs with Indal Persaud taking 7-12 and Dario Williams 2-34.

Queen’s College recorded an easy nine-wicket win over St. George Secondary School at Constant. St. George was dismissed for 85 all out after batting first with Daquan Lovell taking 3-13 and Jamal Burke 2-7. A good innings of 43 from Nico Reifer led Queen’s College to 86-1 in 15.2 overs.

Princess Margaret defeated Grantley Adams by five wickets at Six Roads. Grantley Adams scored 123-7 in 30 overs with Jaquan Marshall leading the way with 38 while Rachad Oneal took 2-9 and Donnel Sylvester 2-23. An unbeaten 82 from Naje Bishop led Princess Margaret to 127-5 in 28 overs.

Alexandra defeated Deighton Griffith by six wickets at Kingsland. Deighton Griffith made 106-6 in 28 overs while Alexandra replied with 107-4 in 19.4 overs. Dashawn Toppin led Alexandra with 46 not out and he also took two wickets.

Milo Lodge thrashed Parkinson Memorial by 101 runs at the Pine. Lodge, led by an unbeaten half century from Shemwyne Harris made 138-4 in 30 overs. Harris scored an even 50 while Jonathan Griffith scored 25. Parkinson was dismissed for 37 all out in 21.1 overs with Jonathan Dowrich taking 4-9 and Zachary Nicholls 3-4.

A five-wicket haul from Decarai Taylor led Global Tuition Harrison College to an 18-run win over Lester Vaughan Secondary at Cane Garden. Harrison College made 91 all out in 26 overs, but easily defended the meagre total as Taylor took 5-23 and Julian Forde 3-25.

KFC Ellerslie defeated Graydon Sealy by six-wickets at St. Stephen’s Hill. Graydon Sealy was dismissed for 91 all out in 30.2 overs with Shamar Persaud taking 3-6. Ellerslie replied with 95-4 in 19.5 overs with Tamani Best leading the way with 27.
