Bridgetown, Barbados - Sixteen teams will take to the field once again to compete in the highly popular Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 Tournament, which will bowl off on Monday at the Dover Cricket Ground.
The 16 teams have been divided into four zones and there will be three new teams competing this year. Those are old scholar teams from the St. Michael School, Grantley Adams Memorial Secondary and the now defunct Louis Lynch School.
Defending champion Foundation ‘A’ will get its campaign going in the tournament’s opening match against newcomers Louis Lynch on Monday, January 20 from 7 p.m. at Dover. The tournament will continue with matches on Wednesday, January 22 and Friday, January 24 at Dover.
From the second week, beginning on Monday, January 27, matches will be played on Mondays at Briar Hall while the Wednesday and Friday matches will be contested at Dover. The semi-finals and finals will be played at the Christ Church Foundation School.

The tournament was conceptualised in 2008 when the 200th Anniversary Committee was identifying ways of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the school. The tournament was then first held in January 2008 and named in honour of West Indies cricket legend, Joel Garner. (PG)
