Bridgetown, Barbados - Six of Barbados’ and the West Indies’ cricketers read the game wrong when they heeded Barbados manager Hartley Reid’s suggestion to turn out at the Maria Holder Nursery in Jackson yesterday.

The six, openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Shai Hope, 50-overs captain Jason Holder, all-rounders Ashley Nurse, Carlos Brathwaite and wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich, thought that they were going to the nursery to interact with the over 30 children.

However, the joy and excitement shown by head of the nursery Shelley Boyce and her staff rivalled that of the children as the adults sought every chance to take photos and chat with the cricketers.

Later the children were given opportunities to practise their bowling, batting and fielding skills with the six players who were part of Barbados’ squad this year. And Kenrick Hinkson didn’t waste a chance to learn from Brathwaite, being shown in this Kenmore Bynoe photo a compact stance while Dowrich kept wicket.
