Bridgetown, Barbados - Carlton Juniors are the new champions of the Inspire Sports/National Sport Council Under-13 competition.
They captured their first title today with a 19-run win over Fusionz Boutique Passage United in a low-scoring encounter at Bank Hall.
It was Carlton Juniors’ third attempt at taking the top prize. They previously lost both finals to rivals Passage United. Meanwhile, it was the third consecutive loss for Passage United who won the championship in the first three years.
Set a modest 115 to win from 35 overs, Passage United were dismissed for 95 in 22.5 overs.
Player-of-the-Match Amari Waithe followed up his invaluable knock of 22, with three for 23 from his seven overs with his off-breaks.
Left -arm spinner Vashdeo Persaud claimed five for 17 from five overs as Carlton Juniors were limited to 114 for nine after being sent in.
