Bridgetown, Barbados - Skipper Shamarh Brooks belted an unbeaten 74 for St. James Settlers to help set up a 28-run win over Christ Church Dolphins in Match 8 of the 2013 UWI CO Williams Inter-Parish Twenty20 competition at 3Ws Oval on Tuesday night.
National player Brooks' 43-ball innings included six sixes and two fours in a total of 166 for three off 20 overs after St. James Settlers won the toss. His half-century came off 33 balls with five sixes.
Barbados wicket-keeper/batsman Shane Dowrich made 37 off 23 balls including four fours and two sixes as an opener, while former national wicket-keeper/batsman Carlo Morris lashed 21 not out off 12 deliveries with two sixes.
Leg-spinner Nikolai Charles, yet another Barbadian with first-class experience, took two for 30 off four overs.
The Dolphins were restricted to 138 for seven. Roston Chase topscored with 45 off 33 balls, hitting two fours and one six, while fellow Barbados player Kyle Hope contributed 36 off 43 balls with one four and one six.
Ravendra Persaud took three for 17 and fellow left-am spinner Andre Marshall, two for 26 - both off four overs.
On Monday night, rain washed out play in the match between St. Andrew Rhythm and St. Thomas Warriors. It was the only match to date which has resulted in a no-decision with each team picking up one point.
