Two Education Programmes in July

Bridgetown, Barbados - The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has launched its Coaching Education Programme, with the Introductory Foundation Level Coaching Course.

This course targets teachers of Primary and Secondary schools, teachers of Physical Education, volunteers and anyone interested in pursuing a career in coaching.

Each course spans a two-day period. The first course was held on June 3 and 4 in St. Lucia. 

A pilot course was held in Barbados on June 20 and 21 at The High Performance Centre, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. 

Two further courses are scheduled for July 11 and 12 and July 21 and 22 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.

The prerequisite for the Introductory Foundation Level Coaching Course is the West Indies Cricket Board/UNICEF Child Protection Certificate. 

The courses will be conducted by the West Indies Cricket Board’s trained tutors/assessors: Adrian King, Henderson Springer, Shirley Clarke, Ricardo Clarke and Robin Parris.

All courses are fully accredited and recognized. The WICB Coaching Education Programme will offer future coaching courses starting from the Foundation Level to Level Three. 

The WICB is inviting interested participants to register online via the www.windiescricket.com Portal, the Barbados Cricket Association office or by contacting the Territorial Development Officer, Robin Parris, for more information.
