Bridgetown, Barbados - Last year's losing finalists Christ Church Foundation will be hoping to finally lift the title when the 29th Annual Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament begins on Monday July 6.
Sixteen schools are down to participate this year but two-time defending champions Powergen Penal Sports Club is not one of them. The Trinidadian side defeated Foundation by 43 runs in last year’s final.
Foundation is down to compete in Zone ‘A’ and will take on English side Sedburgh School in their opening match on Monday.
Play is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at all venues. Some international players who passed through the tournament include Brian Lara, Denesh Ramdin, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Sammy, Alastair Cook and Christopher Jordan.
